Sketch of the Week

One of the outdoor haunts in Roswell is the Spring River Park and Zoo. It's a modest zoo with mostly local animals, but it's free, and zoos of any size almost always provide good sketching opportunities. Animals don't care whether you're drawing them. They move when they please, which is great for developing your hand-eye coordination.

Here are some recent sketches I did of those local critters. I didn't stay too long because the sun was going down by the time I got there, but it'll be a good resource for future excursions when the weather cools down.

Some ponies and a burro.

Bald eagles.

The goat on the left had not only magnificent horns, but also an impressive beard.
