Sketch of the Week: Bottomless Lakes tower

While most of my posts about Bottomless Lakes on here have concerned its natural beauties, it's also got some great WPA architecture, including this viewing tower out by Lea Lake:

This sketch was done in two parts. After going for a swim after work, I did a wash of of the sky. Knowing that the paper would be too wet for pen and ink, I made notation about the tower on a second, dry page. When I got home, I used my notes and memory to draw the tower on the wash page, which by then had dried out.

I'm going on vacation next week, so the Fanciful Lobster will be taking a brief hiatus. Rest assured, I'll be back soon with another sketch of the week.
