Sketch of the Week: Prehistoric Marsupial

In addition to its art museum, Brigham Young University is also home to a paleontology museum. It's a relatively modest building, but replete with fine specimens, including several relatively intact skeletons. There are dinosaurs and other Mesozoic critters on display, but there are also some intriguing prehistoric mammals, including this South American marsupial:

I stopped in to sketch some of the fossils for future ceramics, and the jaw on this fellow impressed me so much that I was compelled to draw it.
