Sketch of the Week: Los Poblanos Barn

During a recent trip back to Los Poblanos, I took a walk around the grounds in search of interesting sketching material, where I discovered this fantastic metal-sided barn:

Barns like these show up in a lot of prints by Vermont-based artists, including Luigi Lucioni and Asa Chaffetz. With its metal siding and painted inscription, this barn is replete with history and was fun to draw, particularly when paired with the craggy textures of the cottonwood trees in front of it. I would definitely like to make a print of this, and am currently debating whether to try out a metal drypoint again, or give silk aquatint another try.
