Sketch of the Week: Cottonwood Tree

When I first visited Los Poblanos I decided to create a new print series based on the farm using the layered printing techniques I'd used in Vermont. During the planning process, I realized that I wanted to include a cottonwood tree, since they're so prevalent up there. I hadn't drawn one that fit what I needed though, so I put the project on hold until I could sketch one. I took care of that over Thanksgiving, when I drew this one:
