The iris have started popping up around Roswell, which means you'll find me out sketching them. Of all flowers, iris are among my favorite to draw, so every spring I feel compelled to go out and sketch these blooms in all their dramatic, rococo glory. These particular flowers were growing alongside the First Baptist Church along Pennsylvania Avenue. I liked the juxtaposition of purple and yellow, two complementary colors.
