Sketch of the Week

Here's a sketch from Wyoming:

It was late afternoon, and I was returning from a day hike when I saw this scene. The contrast between the glimmering, almost turquoise-hued water and the bleached, weathered tree trunk really caught my fancy, so I sat down to sketch it before heading home. At this point I haven't done much else with it, but I've been thinking about doing some sort of triptych of Wyoming scenes for some time now, with this image as one of the contenders for a side panel. Who knows.
