Today's Sketch is of one of the strangest-looking aloe plants I've seen:
A friend of mine in Vermont gave me her aloe when I was getting ready to move to New Mexico, figuring that the plant would be happier in that desert environment. It was an oddly contorted thing with fleshy leaves that resembled octopus tentacles, so naturally I couldn't resist. I ended up breaking the plant apart and replanting it in separate pots to help give it more breathing space, but before I did, I sketched it in all its twisted glory.
