Last week I told you about my weird vase; today I'll be talking about a bowl.
The second project in my beginning clay class was a functional piece, in this case a serving/baking dish (yes, it can go in the oven because it was high-fired). This projected was all about using coils to build form. For this piece I used vertical coils and overlapped them to make a nice texture.
After it was fired, I sanded it and glazed it with two different colors. When I dipped the piece it looked like mauve and pink, but firing turned the colors blue and red, respectively (and yes, I knew they were going to change colors).
