I don't know if you've ever seen a celery root, but it's a strange-looking bugger, this contorted masses of knotted vegetable matter:
I needed one for a soup, and was so struck by its oddity that I sketched it. Given our propensity for pareidolia, I found myself seeing faces in it. I thought about exploring it further in a project, but never got around to it. Commitment to an artistic idea is my weakest point as a creator. I have plenty of them, but following through is a challenge.
