This is one of the first sketches I did after I moved to Roswell, drawn in the backyard I share with the tenant who lives in front of me.
What you're looking at is a closed table umbrella. The lines you see in the background belong to telephone wires, a tree, and the roof of my apartment. It could make for an interesting silverpoint drawing, the folded umbrella reminds me of Old Master-esque drapery, but I doubt I'll do anything with it.
