Sketch of the Week: Bark and Flower

I was out hiking in Santa Fe in October, admiring the changing colors of the foliage, when I noticed this flowering plant growing over a large tree. I liked the contrasting textures of the delicate blooms and the craggy bark, so I made a quick sketch of them. I was thinking it'd make a nice print, but I need to decide which technique would most effectively evoke that tactile juxtaposition.
