Christmas may be over, but that doesn't mean we have to banish all our wonderful decorations to the respective storage containers just yet. The other day, I took a couple of my mother's ornaments from her tree and drew a little still life using some charcoal pencils I'd been given for Christmas. The wide-eyed bird is her most recent ornament, one she got from RMAC's own museum store. The other one she got several years ago in Arizona. It's actually rather colorful, with the triangular shapes representing abstracted mountain ranges in pink, green, and blue.
I think this sketch would make for a cute print or painting, if I get around to it.
