I had a late-summer bouquet in my kitchen a few months ago that included red, white, and blue flowers, perfect for Labor Day and similar holidays. I fully well know that blue daisies don't occur naturally, but we've been modifying our plants and animals so long, is anything natural anymore? I found myself debating this point while sketching these blooms:
Woodbury, the sky is natural, but it has smog; the ocean is natural, but it is depleting; the earth is natural, but it is losing polar caps; the sun is natural, but it is dying out. -DAC
