My life has been exceptionally busy for the last couple of weeks between work commitments, family visits and other personal events, so much so that I haven't been sketching much. The other day though, I took a pause in the early evening to draw one of the roses blooming in front of my house:
This isn't the best flower I've drawn, it turns out the back side of watercolor paper isn't an ideal surface, but it felt good to sketch out my pent-up creative energy. When I was finished I felt more relaxed, as though a tightened spring had been unwound. No matter how busy we get in our daily lives, it's always important to make space for those outlets.
